Microdermabrasion Treatment and Cost in Delhi

Microdermabrasion, also popularly known as skin polishing, is a comfortable medical procedure that works to renew one's skin tone and texture. It can help improve a variety of skin issues like damage due to chronic sun exposure, fine lines and wrinkles, acne and acne scars, melasma, age spots, and other skin conditions.

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a medical treatment done to gently exfoliate the skin cells of the uneven, outer, thicker layer, by using an abrasive instrument.

How does microdermabrasion work?

The procedure involves using a special instrument with an abrasive surface to gently remove the thick outer layer of the skin and rejuvenate it.

What are the benefits of this treatment?

This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks.

Microdermabrasion can -

  1. Reduce age spots
  2. Remove blackheads
  3. Lighten hyperpigmentation patches
  4. Exfoliate skin gently for a refreshed appearance
  5. Improve stretch marks
  6. Improve fine lines and wrinkles
  7. Minimize enlarged pores
  8. Treat acne and acne scars

Microdermabrasion treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production in the deeper layer of skin, which results in younger-looking skin. Collagen is an important protein that makes the skin firm and smooth. As we age, the collagen production reduces slowly and gradually, resulting in lax and uneven skin.

Who is a good candidate for microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is safe for all types of skin and colors. You may opt for this procedure if you have any of the following skin concerns:

  1. Fine lines and wrinkles
  2. Hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots
  3. Enlarged pores and blackheads
  4. Acne and acne scars
  5. Stretch marks
  6. Dull-looking skin complexion
  7. Oily skin type
  8. Uneven skin tone and texture
  9. Melasma
  10. Sun damage
  11. Anti-aging
How is the procedure done?

Microdermabrasion is commonly performed by board-certified dermatologists and plastic surgeons as per the medical advice at many private hospitals and skin clinics. It is an in-office medically reviewed procedure that usually takes about 30-45 minutes.

It’s not a painful procedure so does not require anesthesia.

During the procedure, you’ll be seated comfortably in a reclining chair. The face will be cleansed. Your provider will use a handheld device to gently exfoliate the outer layer of skin in the targeted areas. At the end of the treatment, a moisturizer, as well as sunscreen will be applied to your skin.

There are two different ways to do the procedure:

Diamond-tip hand piece

A diamond-tip handpiece is designed to gently exfoliate the uppermost dead cells in your skin. At the same time, the exfoliated cells will be suctioned off immediately with the same handpiece. The depth of the abrasion may be affected by the pressure applied on the handpiece as well as how long the suction is allowed to remain on the skin.

Crystal microdermabrasion

Crystal microdermabrasion uses a crystal-releasing handpiece to gently spray fine crystals on the skin surface removing the top layer of the skin containing dead skin cells. Like the diamond-tip handpiece, dead skin cell debris is suctioned off simultaneously.
The crystals used are of aluminium oxide, which is an inert molecule.

What should I expect during my microdermabrasion recovery?

There is no downtime after the microdermabrasion procedure. You can resume your daily activities immediately.
It is advisable that the skin is kept well hydrated by the use of a good moisturizer, and proper sun protection is taken to enhance and prolong the results.

What results should I expect after microdermabrasion?

You can see noticeable results immediately after the procedure. The skin looks cleaner, healthier, and feels more smooth, soft, and supple. The blemishes fade away, pores are deep cleansed, giving you a radiant and fresh appearance!

How many sessions do I need to see good results?

Depending on the severity of skin damage, one may require a series of 6-10 sessions to see remarkable differences.

How frequently can I get the treatment done?

Microdermabrasion may be done every 2 weeks initially till the desired results are achieved and then monthly once for maintenance. You may form it a part of your routine skin care regimen as well!

What are the risks of microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is one of the safest aesthetic treatments. Any discomfort experienced is usually short-lasting. This can include slight redness which should subside within a few hours.
Be sure to use a good moisturizer and sunscreen, especially immediately following a microdermabrasion session.
